Should I pick Personal or Business?
Personal ($4.99/mo) is for you if you just want your files on the new platform — storage, bandwidth, share links, FF Connect. Business ($9.75/mo) adds direct embed / CDN links, white label, reseller tools, FF Connect Pro speeds, the external S3 option, a 5TB storage allowance instead of 2TB, and a bigger monthly bandwidth allowance (up to 2x your storage instead of 1x). You can start Personal and move up to Business later — both keep their Discount Lock.
Do I lose my lifetime storage if I upgrade? Is the move free?
Your lifetime storage stays yours — and to be clear about how it works: the upgrade is a paid subscription (at your discounted rate), and your lifetime allowance is then added on top of the plan's included storage, free — up to 2TB extra on Personal or 5TB extra on Business, for the life of your account. You pay for the platform and plan; your lifetime space never costs a monthly fee.
What happens if I do nothing?
Your Classic account keeps working exactly as it does today — including the mobile apps, which will continue to receive updates. New platform features and FF Connect Pro improvements ship on 2.0 only, and the conversion pricing on this page is only available until July 31st, 2026.
What if I change my mind after upgrading?
Your upgrade comes with a 30-day window. Try the new platform, and if it's not for you, cancel within 30 days and go right back to your Classic lifetime account as if nothing happened. After 30 days the move is permanent — your previous Classic account is closed and its files are removed — so make sure everything you need is on 2.0 by then.
I have more than 5TB — what are my options?
Business conversions include up to 5TB of storage; contact support about larger accounts and we'll work out the best path together.
How does bandwidth work on the new platform?
Every month your account automatically receives a fresh bandwidth allowance based on your storage size — your storage size on Personal, up to 2x on Business. It covers uploading, downloading, streaming, embedding and sharing, and it refreshes on its own: nothing to claim, nothing to top up, no separate credits to track. Frequently accessed files are cached, so some traffic may not even count against your allowance. If you ever need more, you can add bandwidth anytime.
What about my FF Connect Pro / API credit purchases?
They come with you. Anything you've purchased — FF Connect Pro or API credits — is honored when you convert: you'll receive the 2.0 equivalent, or the value applied as store credit. And going forward, bandwidth is simpler anyway: your account gets a monthly allowance based on your storage size, refreshed automatically, which replaces the old credit system for most users.
I bought through StackSocial / AppSumo — does this apply to me?
