SFTP Access

We are currently load testing our new SFTP connection option to allow users to connect via programs like FileZilla or WinCP. It also allows for WebDAV and RClone support.

Information about how SFTP works with Folder Fort.

  1. Usage via SFTP uses the API which requires API Credits (read more below)
  2. Concurrent sessions is limited to 2.
  3. The are currently no speed or bandwidth caps/limits.

SFTP Uses API Credits

API credits are how we manage bandwidth and load expenses while providing a fair pricing model that is easy to predict and allows for free general usage. Without it, SFTP simply would not be possible for us.

Reasons why:

  1. It makes abuse impossible.
  2. Scalability is built in.
  3. Insures service longevity.
  4. Removes need for bandwidth limits or throttling.
  5. Consistent and fair for all user accounts.

Free SFTP Access

All users, regardless of plan, receive free SFTP access. Performance is the same whether you have a 1 GB account, a 1 TB lifetime plan, or an enterprise account.

2x the space in credits is given for free during account creation or upgrades. Then API credits can be refreshed annually after that up to your plan’s free total. This allows for users to upload and download their entire space via SFTP annually, without any additional costs or comprimises.

If needed, API Credits can be purchased in any quantity to allow for more usage.

Annual Free API Credit Limits

  • 1 GB = up to 2 credits free annually
  • 250 GB = up to 500 credits free annually
  • 1 TB = up to 2048 credits free annually
